The Chairman's Jewel
The Chairman's Jewel is worn by the Chairman of the council when they represent the council at civic functions.
The outer part of the case and jewel were carved by Harry Perry of Aston Square who once was Chairman of the council. The enamelled centre of the jewel was designed by R J Lewis and represents the five wards of the parish thus:
- Maesbury with Aston - the canal
- Morda with Sweeney - the Mill
- Trefonen - Oak sign of Offa's Dyke walk
- Rhydycroesau - daffodil for proximity to Wales
- Sychtyn - the hills
The Chairman's gavel was made and presented by former councillor R. T. Newell.
